AIBS Letter to National Park Service

Recent reports indicate that the National Park Service has approved the sale of a young-Earth creationist book, The Grand Canyon: A Different View, in Grand Canyon National Park.

On December 30, 2003 AIBS sent a letter to the NPS requesting that non-scientific publications not be presented in a way that connotes they represent a scientific explanation for the age and formation of the Grand Canyon.

A similar letter was recently sent to the NPS by representatives of seven geoscience societies.
