BioScience Bulk-Purchase Program for AIBS Member Societies and Organizations.

Incorporate an additional $12/person/year into your dues, and you can give all of your individual members a personal subscription to BioScience.

AIBS member societies and organizations (for a complete listing and links, see http://www.aibs.org/society-membership-directory) looking to provide their own individual members with additional, low-cost benefits are invited to participate in the BioScience bulk-purchase program.

Details

AIBS will provide a 12-month print and online subscription — 12 issues of BioScience — for only $12/person/year (shipping extra) on bulk-purchases of 500 or more subscriptions — i.e., $1/issue/person. This pricing is based on AIBS's production costs (printing, binding, labor, and materials) for run-on copies of BioScience after its regular monthly print-run is completed.

Eligibility

This offer is for new individual subscribers only, going back one year in the AIBS records.

Shipping of Printed Copies

AIBS will have its printer ship the copies of BioScience each month to a distribution center specified by the participating member society or organization, whereupon the latter can distribute the individual copies to its members (i.e., AIBS does not handle your membership list, and you handle the individual postage costs). Three-day shipping costs for 1,000 copies to a distribution center within the continental U.S. are estimated at $0.25/copy.

Online Access

AIBS will provide the participating member society or organization with BioScience online access codes for its members.

Billing

AIBS will bill participating member societies and organizations for the copies and their shipping quarterly throughout each 12-month period. Example: A society or organization providing 1,000 of its individual members with a personal 12-month print and online subscription to BioScience would be invoiced for a total of $15,000 ((1,000 x $12) + (1,000 x $0.25 x 12)) in quarterly invoices of $3,750.
