Since 1964, BioScience has presented readers with timely and authoritative overviews of current research in biology, accompanied by essays and discussion sections on education, public policy, history, and the conceptual underpinnings of the biological sciences. Classified Ads

Web-Only Classified Ads

There is no insertion deadline for web-only classifieds. You can get immediate posting to the online AIBS Classifieds and ActionBioscience Classifieds and online BioOne Classifieds and be invoiced on the first of the following month. We include links to your website and an e-mail contact address at no extra charge.

RATES: Web classifieds are $3.00 per word for a running time of 31 days. E-mail your ad to to get a quote e-mailed to you the same day. Payment is easy with Visa or MasterCard. We also accept checks drawn from a U.S. bank and purchase orders from U.S. universities.

Print Classifieds Ads

To place a print classified ad in the AIBS journal, BioScience, e-mail your ad, making sure to include your phone and fax numbers as well as your billing address to . You will receive a quote and publication date by return e-mail. Print classifieds must be reserved no later than the 25th of the month two months prior to the publication date; the text is also due at that time (for example, to place a classified in the December issue you must send it in by October 25th). Ads placed in the print version of BioScience will appear online on the AIBS Classifieds web page that month for no additional charge.

RATES: Print classifieds in one or two issues of BioScience are $2.00 per word per issue with a 50-word minimum. Three to five issues is $1.75 per word per issue with a 50-word minimum. Six or more issues is $1.50 per word per issue with a 50-word minimum.

Ad Agencies take 15% commission on display ads; no commission available on classified ads.

Display Ad Deadlines

Display ads must be reserved no later than the 25^th two months prior and artwork is due no later than the 30th (for example, to place a display ad in the December issue you must reserve it by October 25^th and we must have the artwork by October 30).

Display Artwork

Ads for BioScience should ideally be either a high-resolution TIF or PDF (400dpi) file and should be e-mailed to . In some cases, you will be required to forward a hard copy proof.

Cancelled Space Reservations

Display reservations canceled after the reservation deadline will still be charged $300. If you must cancel a display ad, please do it before the first of the month prior.

Billing

Advertisers are invoiced upon the issue's publication or the first of each month. Advertisers outside the United States may be required to pre-pay. We accept VISA and MasterCard, checks on U.S. banks, and purchase orders from U.S. universities.

List Rentals

AIBS will rent certain mailing lists on a case-by-case basis. General costs are $150 per thousand names with a thousand name minimum on Cheshire or Pressure labels. Electronic transfer (disk or e-mail) will only be sent to 3rd party mailing house. Turnaround time for list rentals is TWO WEEKS and there is a $50 rush charge when applicable. We do not rent e-mail lists. Please e-mail BioScience Advertising () for details. AIBS reserves to right to refuse any list rental request and will require a sample of the product being sent.
