Animal personality refers to consistency in the types of behavior that individuals exhibit. Personality has been identified in organisms as diverse as sea anemones, limpets, fish, birds, rodents, ungulates, spiders, water striders, and lizards, and emerging research suggests that personality may exist across the entire animal kingdom.
