Tish Robertson

Tish Robertson, a native to Atlanta, graduated with a B.S. in applied biology at Georgia Institute of Technology (1999). Her positive experiences as a Howard Hughes intern inspired her to continue research as a graduate student at Rutgers University-Newark, where she worked in Dr. Judith Weis's "fish lab". At Rutgers, she studied the impacts of the invasive grass Phragmites australis on the community structure of salt marsh invertebrates. Her doctoral work exposed her to the exciting and sometimes controversial world of wetlands ecology.

Tish is now a senior biologist at Florida International University (Miami), working in the laboratory of aquatic ecologist Joel Trexler. She serves as a coordinator of the laboratory's ongoing monitoring activities in the Everglades. When she isn't busy sorting through fish and macroinvertebrate samples, she enjoys "botanizing" in her new, breathtaking surroundings.

Tish is honored to be involved with AIBS. She has won two poster awards from AIBS, and she currently serves on the Human Resources committee.
