AIBS is dedicated to improving biological science literacy at all levels of formal and informal education. AIBS is working toward meeting this goal through a number of initiatives by recognizing teaching professionals, collaborating with other organizations, disseminating information, publishing teaching resources to improve biology education, and encouraging students to pursue careers in biology.

Discover ready-to-go lesson plans:
Find lesson ideas and activities to accompany ActionBioscience.org's peer-reviewed articles about important issues in the biosciences.
Use biology research journal articles:
Introduce your students to current biology research by having them read BioScience in print and online (educator discounts available).
Keep an "eye" on what is happening in biology education through:
Learn about current applications of evolutionary biology:
Attend presentations by evolutionary biologists at the Evolution Symposium, held yearly at the National Association of Biology Teachers conference, and discover evolution teaching resources online from events held in previous years.
Participate in webinars designed to support undergraduate educators teaching introductory biology:
The biology educator webinar series is offered by AIBS, National Association of Biology Teachers, University of California Museum of Paleontology, and the RCN-UBE Introductory Biology Project. Each webinar will offer information about a teaching resource or pedagogical technique and provide the opportunity to interact with resource providers and your colleagues about successful teaching strategies. Visit www.aibs.org/events/webinar to read the full descriptions and register.
Stay current with today's research:
Read overviews of current biology research in AIBS's peer-reviewed journal, BioScience. Full access is available by subscription, or browse selected articles online.
Careers in Biology
Support your students' interest in pursuing a career in biological sciences by pointing them to resources available through AIBS and our member societies.
USA Science and Engineering Festival
Engage your students' interest in science by participating in the USA Science and Engineering Festival. Science events will take place across the country from October 10 through October 24, 2010. The festival will end with an Expo on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. on October 23 & 24, 2010. Learn about science events in your area on the USA Science and Engineering Festival website found at USA Science and Engineering Festival.
