NIMBioS offering a "Computational Biology Curriculum Development Tutorial"

The National Institute for Mathematical and Biological Synthesis (NIMBioS) is offering a "Computational Biology Curriculum Development Tutorial" workshop from July 6-9, 2010. This event "...focuses on helping future educators develop curriculum resources and teaching approaches that reflect modern biological problem solving as well as engage students with the use of emerging computational tools and data. The tutorial is geared toward graduate students and faculty who teach undergraduate biology courses. Participants will explore the use of scientific data repositories, investigate online analysis and visualization tools, and use open source resources for scientific collaboration. The emphasis will be on creating teaching units that apply quantitative biological problem solving strategies to real problems in medicine, epidemiology, forensics, agriculture and conservation."
