A side-meeting will take place on Tuesday July 6th at the Society for Conservation Biology to discuss building a network for graduate education and conservation practice - how it is developing and how it can be more useful to you.
In 2007, Foundations of Success (FOS) developed a graduate course in adaptive management, combining hands-on group work on real conservation projects with traditional classroom lectures. Since its start at the University of Maryland, the course has been reproduced at MIIS, OTS, UC Davis, U Florida, Virginia Tech, and NC State.
To help meet the growing demand from these and other institutions for information and materials on teaching adaptive management in an academic context, FOS is establishing a network for involved and interested faculty, staff, and students.
