    AGENCY: The National Institutes of Health (NIH) of the U.S. Departmentof Health and Human Services (HHS).

    ACTION: Request for information.

    SUMMARY: With this notice, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) requests input from the community regarding the NIH Policy on Enhancing Public Access to Archived Publications Resulting From NIH-Funded Research (NIH Public Access Policy). Complete and detailed information about the law at Division G, Title II, section 218 of Public Law 110-161 (Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2008), the NIH Public Access Policy, and implementation procedures issued to date are available at http://publicaccess.nih.gov/index.htm. This request for information (RFI) seeks input on the Public Access Policy as described on the above Website. This RFI will be active from March 31, 2008 to May 31, 2008 on http://publicaccess.nih.gov/comments.htm. The NIH will post analysis and results from this RFI for public view onto http://publicaccess.nih.gov by September 30, 2008.

Purpose of Meeting: To advise NSF on the impact of its policies, programs, and activities on the polar research community, to provide advice to the Director of OPP on issues related to long-range planning. Agenda: Staff presentations and discussion on opportunities and challenges for polar research, education and infrastructure; program organization and balance; Antarctic Support Committee of Visitors; transformative research; and overall dimensions of NSF’s IPY activity and how it relates to IPY activity worldwide.
