  • Quadrennial Energy Review: Notice of Public Meeting

    AGENCY: Office of Energy Policy and Systems Analysis, Secretariat, Quadrennial Energy Review Task Force, Department of Energy.

    ACTION: Notice of public meeting.


    SUMMARY: At the direction of the President, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE or Department), as the Secretariat for the Quadrennial Energy Review Task Force (QER Task Force will convene a public meeting to discuss and receive comments on issues related to the Quadrennial Energy Review.)

    DATES: The third public meeting will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2014, beginning at 9:00 a.m. Written comments are welcome, especially following the public meeting, and should be submitted within 60 days of the meeting.

  • Workshop To Obtain Input on Draft Materials for the Integrated Science Assessment (ISA) for Sulfur Oxides (SOX): Health Criteria

    SUMMARY: As part of the review of the air quality criteria for sulfur oxides (SOX) and primary (health-based) National Ambient Air Quality Standards (NAAQS) for sulfur dioxide (SO2), the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is announcing a teleconference workshop to evaluate preliminary draft materials that will inform the development of the SOX Integrated Science Assessment (ISA) for health effects. The workshop is being organized by EPA's National Center for Environmental Assessment (NCEA) within the Office of Research and Development and will be held on June 23-24, 2014. Participation in the workshop will be by webinar or teleconference only.

    DATES: The workshop will be held on June 23-24, 2014, beginning at 1:00 p.m. and ending at 4:00 p.m. each day.

    Pursuant to section 10(a) of the Federal Advisory Committee Act, as amended (5 U.S.C. App.), notice is hereby given of a meeting of the NIH Scientific Management Review Board (SMRB).

    The NIH Reform Act of 2006 (Pub. L. 109-482) provides organizational authorities to HHS and NIH officials to: (1) Establish or abolish national research institutes; (2) reorganize the offices within the Office of the Director, NIH including adding, removing, or transferring the functions of such offices or establishing or terminating such offices; and (3) reorganize, divisions, centers, or other administrative units within an NIH national research institute or national center including adding, removing, or transferring the functions of such units, or establishing or terminating such units. The purpose of the SMRB is to advise appropriate HHS and NIH officials on the use of these organizational authorities and identify the reasons underlying the recommendations.

    The meeting will be open to the public, with attendance limited to space available. Individuals who plan to attend and need special assistance, such as sign language interpretation or other reasonable accommodations, should notify the Contact Person listed below in advance of the meeting.
