BioScience Impact Continues to Grow

According to the latest Thomson Reuters Journal Citation Reports Impact Factor, the AIBS journal BioScience now ranks 8 out of 83 in the "biology" journal category. According to the most recent data, the Impact Factor for BioScience has increased from 4.739 to 5.439. The latest data are for 2013.

"We are very pleased with this latest report," said Dr. Timothy Beardsley, Editorial Director for AIBS. "This is a reflection of a lot of hard work by the staff of BioScience and a great reflection on the high-quality science the journal publishes."

The Impact Factor is one measure for assessing the influence of a scientific journal. It means that, on average, peer-reviewed BioScience articles published during 2011 and 2012 were cited 5.439 times during 2013.
