Despite the efforts of government and industry safety officials, the outbreak of food-borne illness that sickened about 40 people in Oregon and Washington last month will likely not be the last of its kind. Produce consumed at a national restaurant chain and tainted with a Shigella toxin-producing strain of Escherichia coli was the suspected cause of the outbreak. To read more, click here.
