  • National Sea Grant Advisory Board; Public Meeting of the National Sea Grant Advisory Board's Fall 2017 Meeting

    ACTION: Notice of public meeting of the National Sea Grant Advisory Board (NSGAB).


    SUMMARY: This notice sets forth the schedule and proposed agenda of a forthcoming meeting of the NSGAB. NSGAB members will discuss and provide advice on the National Sea Grant College Program (NSGCP) in the areas of program evaluation, strategic planning, education and extension, science and technology programs, and other matters as described in the agenda found on the NSGCP Web site at http://seagrant.noaa.gov/WhoWeAre/Leadership/NationalSeaGrantAdvisoryBoard/UpcomingAdvisoryBoardMeetings.aspx.

    DATES: The announced meeting is scheduled for Monday, October 16 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. ET and Tuesday, October 17 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. ET.

    The NSGAB expects that public statements presented at its meetings will not be repetitive of previously submitted verbal or written statements. In general, each individual or group making a verbal presentation will be limited to a total time of three (3) minutes. Written comments should be received by Elizabeth Rohring by Friday, October 13, 2017 to provide sufficient time for NSGAB review. Written comments received after the deadline will be distributed to the NSGAB, but may not be reviewed prior to the meeting date. Seats will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

    SUMMARY: The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is announcing the availability of the Draft FY 2018-2022 EPA Strategic Plan for public review and comment, which is being revised as required by the Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) Modernization Act of 2010. The agency anticipates the final Strategic Plan will be submitted to Congress in February 2018. For this notice, the EPA is seeking comment from individual citizens, states, tribes, local governments, industry, the academic community, non-governmental organizations, and all other interested parties.

    DATES: Comments must be received on or before October 31, 2017.

    SUMMARY: The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announces a forthcoming public advisory committee meeting of the Science Advisory Board (SAB) to the National Center for Toxicological Research (NCTR). The general function of the committee is to provide advice and recommendations to the Agency on FDA's regulatory issues. At least one portion of the meeting will be closed to the public.

  • Request for Information (RFI)--Mid-Scale Research Infrastructure

    AGENCY: National Science Foundation (NSF).

    SUMMARY: This Request for Information (RFI) is issued in response to the American Innovation and Competitiveness Act (AICA). NSF seeks information on existing and future needs for mid-scale research infrastructure projects from the US-based NSF science and engineering community. The AICA requires NSF to "evaluate the existing and future needs, across all disciplines supported by the Foundation, for mid- scale projects'' and "develop a strategy to address the needs." The input will be used to assess the needs for mid-scale RI from the US- based NSF science and engineering community in order to develop a strategy, in accordance with the AICA.
