On September 30th, the USGS Coalition sent a joint letter signed by 33 coalition organizations to members of the conference committe for the Fiscal Year 2004 Interior and Related Agencies appropriations bill. The letter thanks conferees for restoring proposed cuts in the president's budget request, and encourages them to provide additional support to "help USGS meet the tremendous need for science in support of public policy decision-making." Versions of the letter sent to the House and Senate conference chairs are available as PDF documents. The conferees are representatives and senators who sit on the House and Senate Appropriations Subcommittees on Interior and Related Agencies as well as the chairman and ranking member of the full appropriations committees.
