Dear Chairman Stanislawski and Vice Chairman Sharp:

On behalf of the American Institute of Biological Sciences (AIBS), I am writing to share our concerns with SB 393, the Oklahoma Science Education Act. Our Oklahoma members, who include biology educators and research scientists, are deeply concerned with this legislation, which is merely a reincarnated version of prior bills designed to introduce non-scientific concepts into the science curriculum.

We request that you help to promote quality science education for all students in Oklahoma by rejecting SB 393.

The American Institute of Biological Sciences is a national scientific organization dedicated to providing decision-makers with high quality and vetted information with the goal of advancing the biological sciences for the benefic of science and society. Our membership includes individuals and scientific professional societies and research centers with a combined membership and staff of more than 200,000 individuals.

Thank you in advance for your thoughtful consideration of this matter.

Sincerely,

Robert Gropp, Ph.D.
Co-Executive Director
