AIBS Comments on Louisiana Science Education Rule

On 4 June 2009, AIBS sent comments to the Louisiana State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education in response to a request for public comment on proposed changes to the Louisiana Handbook for School Administrators. These changes, as written, could permit the inclusion of non-scientific, supplemental materials into the state science curriculum.

The proposed changes are part of the agency's efforts to implement SB 733, also known as the Louisiana State Science Education Act, which was signed into law by Governor Bobby Jindal (R) on 25 June 2008.
