This week, scientists from across the country will be in Washington, DC to participate in the annual Biological and Ecological Sciences Coalition (BESC) Congressional Visits Day. As part of this effort, they will be meeting with and asking their members of Congress to pass an appropriations bill that will fund the government through the balance of the current fiscal year, and they will be asking that lawmakers provide the National Science Foundation with $7.767 billion in FY 2012.
Even if you are not in Washington, DC this week, you can remind policymakers of the importance of federal investments in scientific research and education.
