The American Institute of Biological Sciences, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit scientific association with a membership of some 5,000 biologists and 200 professional societies and scientific organizations, seeks a Public Policy/Affairs Representative to join its full-time Public Policy Office staff. The representative will work to advance the AIBS mission in support of biological research and education, focusing on organismal and integrative biology. Activities include working on U.S. legislative, regulatory, and other public policy issues; developing and maintaining communications and media relations programs; preparing press releases, background materials, white papers, and briefings; writing policy analyses for AIBS online and print publications; making public presentations and representing AIBS in a variety of public settings.
