AIBS Online Council Meeting - Opportunities for Scientific Societies to Combat Racism and Intolerance

AIBS will be having a special meeting of the AIBS Council on June 30, 2020 at 2:00 PM Eastern. This webinar discussion will explore opportunities for scientific societies to combat racism and intolerance.

Date:
Tuesday, June 30, 2020

Time:
2:00 - 3:00 PM Eastern Standard Time

Moderator:
Robert Gropp, Executive Director, AIBS

Who can attend:
AIBS Council Representatives, Elected Leadership, or Staff of AIBS and NSCA member organizations.

Discussion:
Like many of your organizations, AIBS issued a statement “No Room for Racism and Injustice in Science or Society” on June 4, 2020. As we noted in our statement, one of the ways in which we think AIBS can help tackle systemic racism is to host a conversation with leaders of our membership to explore what different organizations are doing to combat racism and injustice in science or society. This discussion is one way for the AIBS Council to identify and share resources, and strategize to tackle a significant problem of common concern.
